Join us for a talk with Jon Shellenberger, whose background and expertise have put him at the forefront of an international factfinding mission that could deliver some long-awaited resolution for native and nontribal communities searching for the buried history of Indian boarding school sites.
Earlier in the day, at 11 a.m., Jon will speak to a class on "Using GPR to Locate Unmarked Burial Sites." This event is also open to the public.

Jon Olney Shellenberger, MA is currently the Cultural Resources Department Director for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe and an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. Jon received his MA in Cultural and Environmental Resource Management from CWU and is the former director of the CWU American Indian Studies program.
