About this Event
Join AHP Writer/Artist-in-Residence Dylan Klempner for “Gratitude Journaling,” a weekly writing workshop via Zoom for 8 weeks from January 10 - February 28, 2025.
The workshop will run for 60 minutes from 2:30pm - 3:30pm EST.
Gratitude's Benefits
Studies show that gratitude is associated with more happiness. It can help us cope with challenges, have better relationships, feel more positive emotions and enjoy good experiences. Research also suggests that keeping a journal can be a good way to cultivate gratitude and is linked to a number of benefits, including improved mental health and well-being.
Who is this class for?
This class is ideal for writers at any stage of their writing journey, from beginners to advanced, including those who may have never taken a writing class before. Writers will be encouraged to use their journal to develop craft in a supportive setting. During each session, we will focus on creating new work and on providing positive feedback for the other writers in the group.
The workshop is also inspired by the work of Pat Schneider, founder of AWA and author of "Writing Alone and With Others." In it, she writes, “Every person is a writer, and every writer deserves a safe environment in which to experiment, learn, and develop craft.”
