Teatro en El Verano regresa este verano con una versión recién adaptada de *La Broa’*, la única obra que se estrenó en el escenario de Trinity Rep en 2024. Las historias se basan en relatos orales recopilados por Marta V. Martínez y llevados a escena por el dramaturgo Orlando Hernández. Inspirada en las historias que dieron forma a Broad Street y en las primeras familias colombianas establecidas en Central Falls, esta producción —que hemos titulado *La Broa’ en tu barrio*— se alinea con nuestro objetivo para 2026 de celebrar las voces, las historias y los héroes cotidianos de las comunidades latinas de Rhode Island.
[ENG] Teatro en El Verano returns this summer, with a newly adapted version of La Broa’ — the one and only play that premiered on the stage at Trinity Rep in 2024. The stories are based on oral histories collected by Marta V. Martínez and brought to the stage by playwright Orlando Hernández. Inspired by the stories that shaped Broad Street and the early Colombian families rooted in Central Falls, this production (which we’re calling La Broa’ en tu barrio) is in line with our goal in 2026 of celebrating the voices, histories, and everyday heroes of Rhode Island’s Latino communities.
