Grateful Hearts: A Reggio Emilia-Inspired Family Gratitude Celebration

Celebrate the spirit of exploration, creativity, and gratitude with your preschooler at our Reggio Emilia-inspired Family Day on Saturday, November 23!

Dubbed “Grateful Hearts: A Reggio Emilia-Inspired Family Gratitude Celebration,” this hands-on event is an invitation for children and their families to discover the value of thankfulness through art, nature, and collaborative activities.

Children will be encouraged to lead their own learning experience at various activity stations, including:

Gratitude Art Studio

Children will create their own gratitude-themed artwork using natural materials like leaves, pinecones, and stones. This will let their creativity flow as they express what they’re thankful for.

Nature Exploration Table

Preschoolers can explore sensory bins filled with fall treasures like acorns, pumpkins, and dried flowers. This allows them to learn to observe and appreciate nature’s beauty.

Community Gratitude Mural

Contribute to a giant mural where children and families will add drawings, words, and symbols of thankfulness. This collaborative artwork reflects the Reggio Emilia emphasis on community and shared expression.

The day will conclude with a Gratitude Circle, where children will have the opportunity to present their artwork or creations, allowing them to take pride in their accomplishments and share their thoughts. This reflective moment encourages preschoolers to express their feelings and celebrate the importance of gratitude in a nurturing and supportive environment.

In addition to these activities, parents will have the chance to learn more about the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which encourages curiosity, creativity, and child-led exploration. Our educators will be on hand to share insights and answer questions on how to incorporate Reggio Emilia principles at home.
