It's time for Grappling Gods 3!!
Grappling Gods 3 is coming strong, and competitors are coming to test their skills.
This is a gi and no-gi tournament. There will be divisions for both kids and adults. Youth divisions will be double elimination, and adult divisions will be single elimination!
So what can you expect from this event? Well let's go over the details.
First off, we are bringing back our exclusive TGT point system, designed to be simpler in nature. It'll mean fewer overtimes, and an easier scoring system for the average parent, competitor, and coach to understand.
We're excited to say that we are bringing back YOUTH ABSOLUTE DIVISIONS. There are 5 Gi Youth Absolute divisions, and 5 No-Gi divisions. These are divisions for kids who want to test themselves and are prepared for the potential weight and skill discrepancy that comes with it. It's a tough, but fun series of battles. All absolute divisions are SINGLE elimination. The gi absolutes will take place at the very end of gi divisions, and the no-gi absolutes will take place at the very end of the no-gi divisions. The winner of absolutes will receive either a Hammer, a metal Sword, or a Championship Belt!
We are adding Men's ADVANCED Absolute divisions, in gi and no-gi! These divisions are for purple, brown, and black belts. The gi and no-gi absolutes will be split into 2 divisions, LIGHTWEIGHT and HEAVYWEIGHT. That's 4 total absolutes, meant for those advanced individuals that want to test their skill. Your registration will allow you in up to 2 absolutes. The winner of each division will receive a CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!
We are adding regular Women's divisions for white and blue belts. There will be 3 weight classes in gi and no-gi. Your registration allows you in up to 2 divisions.
Adult registrations (white and blue belt) will allow you to compete in up to 2 divisions (and a free absolute for men), and kids can compete in up to 3 divisions. For kids/teens, this is a double elimination tournament! Which means, you have to lose twice in order to be eliminated from your division. So if you compete in 2 divisions, you will get a minimum of 4 matches!
We will be bringing back the ALL GIRLS 13-16 year old division. We know that when it comes to teenagers, the gap in speed and strength starts to widen between boys and girls, so in an effort to keep the playing field more even, all girls 13 and over can jump into this new division, facing just other girls. Girls will still have the option to go into the regular divisions and face boys if they choose to, but they don't have to.
We'll be bringing back a Men's No-Gi Absolute division for white & blue belts! There will 2 no-gi absolutes for men, split into LIGHTWEIGHT and HEAVYWEIGHT. It's an all no-gi absolute, and any white and blue belt can enter it. The absolute divisions will take place at the beginning of the tournament, alongside the youth matches. There won't be any gi absolute divisions for white/blue belts. The winners of the absolutes will now take home a CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!
We are also going to be using the Smoothcomp system for our checkout, and for our match scheduling throughout the day. With the Smoothcomp system, every fighter will have an exact scheduled time showing when their next match is taking place. You will be able to see this schedule on your cell phone, along with the brackets and other competitors, and it will update as the day goes on!
Registration for Grappling Gods 3 will be $99, which includes entry in up to 3 divisions for kids and adults up to blue belt. Registration for women and Advanced competitors will be only $50, which includes entry in up to 2 divisions.
