Graphic Design for Kids!

Learn the basics of graphic design with professional graphic designer Nicole Holmes. In each hands-on, project based workshop, we will explore a different aspect of graphic design. Learn how to use art & communication to achieve a goal. Each project is guided, while allowing for creative freedom. During this workshop we will use Canva, a free online design tool, to make our creations.

Workshop Details

• Ages 8-12
• 1:00-3:30pm
• Fee: $45 for one workshop OR $80 for both workshops
• Location: Play Oasis, College Station, Texas
• Maximum of 8 students per class
• Pre-registration is required. Registration ends one hour before class begins.

• 1/2 off same day general admission to Play Oasis (Play time is not included in this workshop. You may come early, or stay late to enjoy all Play Oasis has to offer. Parent supervision is required.)

Workshop Requirements

• Each student must bring a wifi enabled laptop or tablet. (If you are using a tablet, I highly recommend installing the Canva app, instead of accessing the site on a web browser.)
• Each student must have access to a Canva.com account (free or pro version).
• Students must be able to read and spell reasonably well.
• Please bring your own snack and drink to enjoy during snack time.
• Students must be respectful of eachother and the equipment. If there are consistent behavior issues, parents will be called to pickup their child.
• Parents may drop off anytime between 9:00-9:30am and pick up between 3:00 - 3:30pm.

About the Instructor

Nicole Holmes is a local freelance graphic designer at Zeal Design Studio. She has a BFA in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Abilene Christian University. For the last 18 years, she has worked with hundreds of clients developing logos and marketing materials tailored to their brand. She firmly believes that everyone is a graphic designer, especially our youth! She is passionate sharing her knowledge of visual communication to fill the world with more good design. Nicole has been working with children since she was one herself and loves their unbridled creativity!

Nicole also teaches Canva workshops for adults and custom Canva trainings for businesses and nonprofits.
