There will also be a Medieval Onion Fair in the autumn, revisiting Grantham’s historic tradition from days gone by.
Visitors once flocked to Grantham for the historic onion charter fair, when the relics of St Wulfram would be one of the attractions, exhibited to devout visitors of the parish church.
Nowadays, stalls will be set up to sell local produce, onion-themed goods and crafts. Food and drinks sellers will ply their trade featuring dishes made with onions. There will be music, street performers, and historical reenactments - as well as an onion eating contest and onion shows.
