What are you priorities for 2026?I have many, but most immediate, as in on my doorstep, is the terrible litter situation in parts of our ward. Maybe it's the result of the Christmas holidays, but it was bad and now it's got worse.
A small group of volunteers have been trying to keep it under control - and our thanks go out to them for their continued efforts - but the wider community needs to step in and lend a hand. We do also need to deal with the causes of the problem.
On Saturday 17th January, from 11am (after the Tesco Meet and Greet), I will equip a group of the willing with bags and litterpickers at the Nimrod Centre PO13 8AA. Together we can try to remove the worst of the litter.
I would like to make this into a regular event. Please let me know your availability.
Others may prefer to go out solo at different times, either before or after 17th. I would like to help you if you need any equipment, so do get in touch.
I know that together we can make Grange and Alver Valley the safe, clean and happy place we all want it to be.
