GRAND FORKS: Expedition: Greenland A humanities + leadership + adventure event

Expedition: Greenland is a statewide humanities, leadership, and adventure film series presented by The Study, bringing an extraordinary story of exploration and resilience to four North Dakota cities.

Join us in Grand Forks for a screening of Expedition: Greenland (2025) and a live conversation with North Dakota physician and expedition participant Dr. Jon Solberg.

The documentary follows seven adventurers on the first successful vehicle crossing of Greenland's ice sheet from south to north—a 21-day, 1,400-mile expedition through one of Earth's most unforgiving landscapes. Directed by Clay Croft, the film captures breathtaking Arctic scenery while documenting the teamwork, trust, and leadership required to complete a journey never before accomplished.

The expedition required continuous driving shifts lasting up to 75 hours, constant adaptation, and complete dependence on one another in an environment where every decision mattered.

Following the film, Dr. Solberg will discuss the expedition's greatest challenges, what it taught him about leadership and resilience, and how lessons learned in extreme environments apply to everyday life. Audience members will be invited to participate in a live Q&A moderated by Dr. Marjorie Jenkins.
