Join Grand Allusion in their celebration of the diverse, melodic, and timeless music of Styx in this “Special 50th Anniversary Performance” of the ENTIRE “Crystal Ball” Album, plus your favorite hits, exclusively at The Wildey Theatre!
The year was 1976, the band had just finished their Equinox tour with new member Tommy Shaw on guitar and lead vocals taking the place of John Curulewski right before it started.
Enter in their 6th studio album Crystal Ball, with hits like “Put Me On”, “Mademoiselle” and Tommy Shaws epic song that become the album title, “Crystal Ball”! After a successful tour supporting the “Equinox” album with major acts of the time, this album would help solidify Styx as an upcoming headlining band.
Crystal Ball continued the “Progressive Rock” style and theme from the Equinox album on songs such as “Clair De Lune/Ballerina”, “Jennifer” and “This Old Man” but also injected hard rocking songs like “Crystal Ball” showcasing Tommy Shaw’s guitar and vocal versatility, “Shooz” Tommy’s slide guitar ability, as well as the heavier sound of “Put Me On”, the albums opening track.
Ride along as Grand Allusion takes you on a journey through time, by recreating the vocals and instrumentation as it was recorded on “Crystal Ball”, while translating it into an exciting concert experience!
Then enjoy songs covering albums from 1973-1983, such as “Light Up”, “Suite Madame Blue”, “Lorelei”, “Renegade”, “Blue Collar Man”, “Lady”, “Mr. Roboto”, “Babe”, “Snowblind”, “The Best Of Times”, “Boat On The River”, “Lights”, “Come Sail Away” and more!
Whether in a large arena or an intimate concert venue, Grand Allusion is an experience that will leave you wanting more. Their ability to recreate the original sounds of this iconic band will remind you of the “Best of Times”!
