GRAHAM WEBER & LEMONGRASS
About this Event
Few songwriters are as deeply woven into the fabric of the Austin music community as Graham Weber. A respected songwriter, performer and champion of independent music, Graham fronts acclaimed Austin rock band Restos while maintaining a celebrated solo career spanning six studio albums. He has toured throughout North America and Europe, shared stages with artists including Guy Clark, Todd Snider, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Alejandro Escovedo, and spent years producing showcases for SXSW, Folk Alliance and AmericanaFest. Today he also works with the Texas Music Office helping support the state's internationally renowned music scene.
His latest solo album, Old Young Man, earned praise from the Austin Chronicle, which described Weber as a songwriter who creates "entire emotional novels packed into seemingly simple scenes," while Twangville compared his writing to the great Texas troubadours Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt.
Joining Graham is Lemongrass, the Austin-based duo of Taylor Rae and Sam Hodgson. Formed almost by accident when the pair wrote their first song together within hours of meeting, Lemongrass have quickly become one of the most talked-about new acts on the Texas roots scene. Blending stunning vocal harmonies with beautifully crafted songwriting, they describe their sound as "Sour Folk"—music that embraces life's bittersweet moments with warmth, honesty and wit.
Together, Graham Weber and Lemongrass represent two generations of one of America's richest songwriting communities. Expect an intimate evening of songs, stories, laughter and the kind of musical chemistry that has made Austin the songwriting capital of Texas.
