Come by and learn how to create a functional ceramic dish using GR Pottery Forms Slumpies to make your own 6.5" x 9" dish.
These versatile dishes have many uses around the home—perfect as an entryway tray for keys, a catch-all for small items, or even for serving desserts. They also make great handmade gifts.
This is an easy, beginner-friendly project that’s both fun and approachable.
Each student will use a GR Pottery Form and a slab of clay that will naturally slump into shape. You’ll then trim away the excess clay, refine the edges, and finish your piece into a clean, functional dish ready for drying and firing. Once you've finished your project you can choose from a variety of vibrant studio glazes for a colorful, expressive finish.
Because clay must dry completely before firing, the finishing process takes several weeks. Once your piece is fully dry, it will go through a bisque firing. After the bisque firing is complete, I will clean each piece, wax the underside, apply glaze, and fire it one final time. Projects will be ready for pick-up in approximately 4–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.
Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair. Rings, bracelets, and other loose jewelry are best left at home.
Please Note:
• Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before class begins.
• All studio rules and procedures must be followed.
• Due to limited seating, class registrations are non-refundable.
