GOVERNORS FIRE PREVENTION DAY AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR

Planning to go to the Minnesota State Fair? If you are, make plans to go on Friday, August 25th because it’s Governor’s Fire Prevention Day at the State Fair.
Volunteers, firefighters, and members of the emergency response system come together to bring you the WORLD’S LARGEST FIRE PREVENTION EVENT.
LOTS OF SIGHTS TO BE SEEN, PLACES TO GO, AND THINGS TO DO!
The Hot Zone Experience opens at 8:00 on Underwood Ave next to the Pet Pavilion. Check out the side by side fire sprinkler display and the difference one single residential sprinkler head can make in a bedroom fire.
Learn how to put out a stove top fire safety and see the live burn that shows you the explosive and dangerous results of using just a cup of water to put out a cooking oil fire.
FREE Yard Stick from the Minnesota State Fire Marshals Office.
To pay tribute to the 343 firefighters that lost their lives on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. Fair goers can complete the climb at the Smart Kids AR activity.
The DNR is having a Touch Truck Event at the DNR Building on Clough Street.
There is a Flag Raising and Memorial Service honoring the Fallen Minnesota Firefighters at the Lodge Band shell at 10:10 a.m.
Fire Explorer Challenge in Dan Patch Park where you can watch the firefighters of the future complete in Search and Rescue, performing CPR, doing Fire Prevention Presentation, Donning gear, and raising ladders.
Mock Collisions performed by the Explores at 12:00 pm and 3:30 pm that will show you how people are extricated from a car when they are trapped after a crash.
The State Fair Parade at 2:00 pm featuring fire trucks and Sparky the Fire Dog!
There are things to see and do all over the fairgrounds related to fire and life safety.
