This forum was created to ensure veterans and military families have a strong voice in Alaska’s gubernatorial election while discussing issues that impact every community across the state. Alaska has the highest veteran population per capita in the nation, and veterans make up roughly one in ten adult residents and an estimated eight to eleven percent of voters. Veterans consistently vote at higher rates than the general population, making their perspective critical to Alaska’s future leadership decisions.
This event is designed to create direct, meaningful engagement between candidates and the public. The forum uses a structured fireside format that focuses on leadership, accountability, decision making, and readiness to govern. Candidates will answer moderated questions, candidate submitted questions, and real time audience driven feedback.
A live audience polling platform will allow attendees to share instant feedback during candidate responses. The event will also be livestreamed statewide to ensure rural and remote Alaskan communities can participate in the conversation. This forum is built to create transparent dialogue, elevate community priorities, and give voters a deeper understanding of each candidate’s leadership approach.
