RDSBL's Centre for the Study of States, Markets & People (STAMP) is pleased to host an international colloquium on:


Governance & Conflict in Divided Societies: The Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East


Taking place on 2 June 2026, the colloquium will bring together leading academics and experts to explore questions of governance, conflict, diplomacy, migration, global economics, and power shifts across the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkey, Israel, Syria, Qatar, Russia, and the Persian Gulf.


The event will feature a keynote lecture, “Revolutions,” by Professor Emeritus Donald Sassoon from Queen Mary University of London, chaired by Professor Ilaria Favretto from the School of Advanced Study, University of London.


Participants will include scholars from UEL, King’s College London, LSE, Zagreb University, Keele University, Exeter University, Middlesex University, Milan and Pavia Universities, the Centre for International Policy Research in Doha, and Taylor & Francis.
