GAY GOTHS RISE UP! This Pride season, Nightjar Promotions is proud to present a goth Pride event for all the darkly inclined LGBTQIA+ folks looking for a nocturnal alternative to the summer heat of pride parade festivities. You can expect the usual suspects playing all your favourite goth rock, deathrock, darkwave, industrial, EBM, and postpunk, but this time with a twist! We're making this iteration bigger, better, and gayer with the addition of drag performers and queer vendors, so be sure not to miss out.
NOTES ON ETIQUETTE
The promoter behind Nightjar stands in solidarity with all marginalized groups. We have a zero tolerance policy for any racist, sexist, ableist, classist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise disempowering speech or behaviour, whether microaggressive or overt. Transgressions will result in your removal from the venue and potentially a permanent ban from future events.
Please keep our anti-racist stance in mind when deciding what to wear to Goth Nite, and ensure that your garb is culturally appropriate (ex; no non-Black "dreadlocks", bindis on non-South Asian folks, makeup mimicking traditional Indigenous tattoo designs, etc.). In reigniting the local goth scene after a hiatus, we have the opportunity to prioritize diversity and challenge aspects of the subculture that are, let's face it, outdated. Let's all do our part to make this space a safe, comfortable, and welcoming one for our BIPOC friends and community members. Beyond that, dress to express and remember to have fun!

This event is taking place on the traditional, stolen, unceded land of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
