GOSPEL NIGHT: The Gospel Revisited
Join us Sunday, September 13 at 4:00 PM at Ward Chapel AME Church in Peoria for Gospel Night: The Gospel Revisited, a free community gathering centered on worship, meaningful conversation, the message of Jesus, and encounter.
Presented by Ward Chapel AME Church Men’s Ministry, this evening is open to everyone.
Whether you’ve been part of the church for your entire life, are wrestling with questions about faith, have felt distant from organized religion, or are simply searching for hope, meaning, and something deeper, there is room for you.
The evening will include worship led by Clifton Jones, a live conversation with author Aaron C. Bailey and Sherry Cannon exploring themes from The Gospel Revisited, a message from Aaron, and space for reflection, prayer, and personal response.
Ward Chapel’s pastor, the Rev. Dr. Cyrus Burns, will host the gathering, and the evening will also include a special prayer for men.
About The Gospel Revisited
The Gospel Revisited grew from Aaron’s desire to examine versions of the Christian message shaped more by fear, shame, striving, and performance than by the love and grace revealed in Jesus.
The book invites readers to reconsider distorted images of God and rediscover a message centered on grace, belonging, and the conviction that God has always been like Jesus: kind, near, and good.
Gospel Night brings that conversation off the page and into the room.
