Gorse Cut & Burn Family Day – Help Nature, Have Fun!Sunday 9th November | 10am – 1pm
Meet at the Discovery Centre, Knoll Beach (BH19 3AQ)
Join the National Trust outdoor team for a hands-on morning helping to care for Studland’s wild spaces. Families will work together to clear gorse from key areas and safely burn it on a supervised fire—an exciting way to learn about land management and enjoy the great outdoors!
🌿 What to expect:
Safe, supervised fire for burning cleared gorse
A chance to use tools like saws and loppers (with guidance!)
Teamwork, fresh air, and a real sense of achievement
👨👩👧👦 Great for families:
Children can help with lighter tasks and learn about nature conservation. Adults will be shown how to use tools safely, and make sure everyone feels included.
🧤 What to bring:
Old clothes and strong boots (it might get muddy!)
Gardening gloves if you have them
Goggles, gauntlets, and all the tools you need will be provided
