Join us at the Independence Public Library as we honor and celebrate the remarkable life, profound vision, and lasting legacy of Kansan native Gordon Parks. An esteemed author, photographer, and filmmaker, Parks used his art to document American culture and share powerful life lessons centered in love, dignity, and hard work.
Through this three-part series, we will explore his groundbreaking cinematic achievements and deeply moving literary works. The final program, "Learning from Gordon Parks" presented by Ann Dean, is provided by a grant from Humanities Kansas.
