More than two dozen musicians from the Palouse and beyond will take the stage Thursday, April 17, to honor legendary Northwest singer-songwriter and longtime radio host Dan Maher.“Good Road: A Musical Tribute,” will give singers and instrumentalists from around the region a chance to say thanks to Maher for his influence on their careers and contributions to the region’s music scene. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse, 420 E. Second, Moscow.
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted for Maher’s medical expenses. He was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer earlier this year, but he is looking forward to attending the concert.
Among the bands scheduled to play are the Intentions, Frogtown, the Pond, the Chelseas, Potatohead, Inland Harmony Chorus, and the duo of Janet and Allison Anders. Seattle singer-songwriter Wes Weddell will perform, as well as serve as the master of ceremonies. Singer Heidi Muller, who has often performed with Dan, will send a video tribute. Other musician friends from around the region have sent written tributes that Weddell will share throughout the event.
