Good Grief: Grief Recovery Group

People say you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to do to accomplish that. Good Grief is a Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program that makes that possible and provides partnerships and guidance to ensure that it happens. Good Grief is an evidence-based, action-oriented, powerful, directed approach to healing from life's deepest heartbreaks.

Come join us at Yendis Wellness Studios for our Grief Recovery Group. This in-person gathering is a safe space for sharing, healing, and supporting one another through the journey of grief. Whether you're experiencing recent loss or still working through past pain, this group is here for you. Our sessions are led by an experienced facilitator who understands the complexities of grief. The group is led by Sidney Gaskins, LCPC and Grief Recovery Method Specialist™ in a safe and comfortable setting. Sidney is a psychotherapist specializing in grief, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

This program will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays was separate groups. It will be taught once a week for 9 weeks. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There are readings and assignments between sessions. New participants can join on sessions 1 or 2; after session 2, the group is closed. GRM Support Groups are not drop-in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured, and action-oriented.

Doors will open 15 minutes prior to all sessions for participants to settle in. Sessions will begin at the appointed time. Participants are permitted to remain up to 30 minutes following sessions if needed.

The grief group is therapeutic in nature but is not group therapy, nor is it a replacement for therapy.

We will be using the text from The Grief Recovery Handbook, 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition by John W James and Russell Friedman. The text can be purchased online at Amazon, Alibris, Abe Books, and others. Please have the text for the first session.

LOCATION: We are located in Yendis Wellness Studios in Copper Bend off Frank Scott Parkway. Turn on Memory Lane (next to Hope Chapel) we are the last building on your right. Take the first right at the end of the buildings and park. We are downstairs.
