About this Event

Good Grief Great GOD

Step into a transformative experience where art becomes a language of healing, connection, and restoration. Good Grief Great GOD is not just an art show; it is an immersive journey through the landscapes of loss, faith, and love.

Curated by the multi-talented Veronica "So Creative" Essex, this one-of-a-kind event blends fine art, digital art, interactive installations, spoken word, music, performance art, and healing workshops to tell a deeply personal and universal story. Through poignant and evocative mediums, Veronica invites you to join her as she unpacks the complexities of grief after losing her mother to pancreatic cancer.

But this is not merely a night of sorrow. It is an entire week of remembering, unpacking, and restoring. With vulnerability and artistry, Veronica chronicles her encounters with God during her journey, revealing how even in the depths of loss, His presence becomes a steady and guiding light.

This year’s expanded experience includes three powerful showings of the production, a full workshop day, and a community open mic night, unfolding over four days:

  • Wednesday, February 25 – Opening Night Gallery Experience and Full Performance
  • Thursday, February 26 – Workshop Day (Lunch Provided) featuring movement and breathwork, journaling, and a guided group session
  • Friday, February 27 – Community Open Mic and Ensemble Feature
  • Saturday, February 28 – Matinee Gallery Experience and Full Performance / Finale Gallery Experience and Full Performance

Expect to be moved by:

Fine Art: Stunning pieces that depict moments of reflection, faith, and transformation.
Digital Art: Immersive visuals that capture the emotions of grief and hope in vivid detail.
Interactive Art: Installations that invite participation, connection, and personal reflection.
Spoken Word and Music: Raw, lyrical performances that give voice to unspeakable pain and profound joy.
Performance Art: A masterful show that brings her journey to life with honesty, humor, and soul.

Alongside the performances, the Workshop Day is designed to support emotional and spiritual restoration:

  • Movement and Breathwork Workshop: Release tension and reconnect with your body through guided movement and grounded breath.
  • Journaling Workshop: Use expressive writing as a tool for processing grief, clarity, and emotional resilience.
  • Group Grief Session: A compassionate, guided space facilitated by mental health professionals where attendees can share, reflect, and be witnessed in community.

The Community Open Mic Night offers a creative space for expression, testimony, artistry, and shared healing, allowing attendees to honor their own stories.

This is a space where art meets the divine, where the broken find beauty, and the weary find restoration. Good Grief Great GOD is an invitation to feel deeply, to remember boldly, and to encounter God’s presence in the places you least expect.
