Create a stunning Christmas centrepiece on a gonk theme. Marzipan, ice and decorate 2 rich fruit cakes, a double-height barrel cake as well as creating a gonk family from more cake (in your own colour scheme).This course is jam- packed with techniques - be amazed at how much you learn and go home not only with a real show-stopper for your Christmas centrepiece but also with lots of skills and techniques you can use for other cake projects.
How to:
- ice a cake board
- use fun fonts including spacing of messages
- flood a message with royal icing
- marzipan your cakes using the panel method.
- ice your cakes in sugarpaste - with a focus on sharp edges
- create a double height barrel cake
- use moulds
- use a range of cutters and techniques
- create a starburst
- create two-tone streamers
- make edible bows
- use the sugar gun
- model gonks
- create 'cake' gonks
- use lustre dusts
- stack your cakes
- add ribbon to your cake board
- transport and store your masterpiece
