Gong Church ist eine schöne Zusammenkunft für alle. 45 Minuten Gongmeditation, danach eine gemeinsame Stille. Offen für alle. Bitte anmelden. Auf Spendenbasis.
Der Anlass findet im Krematorium Sihlfeld D statt, am Ende einer Kastanienallee auf dem Zürcher Friedhof Sihlfeld. Dieser Raum bietet eine aussergewöhnliche Schönheit und zugleich ein kraftvolles akustisches Feld für die Gongs.
Während eines Grossteils des letzten Jahrhunderts war dies das Krematorium der Stadt; heute ist es die Friedhofskapelle — ein quadratischer Saal unter einer flachen Kuppel, Tageslicht, das von oben einfällt, Bilder vom Jenseits und steinerne Löwen an den Wänden.
Kaum ein Raum in der Stadt trägt die Stille so wie dieser. Sich hier zu versammeln — an einem Ort, der für den Abschied gebaut wurde — verleiht den Gongs und der Stille danach eine Tiefe, die ihr spüren werdet.

Note on the Location: The event takes place in the Krematorium Sihlfeld D, at the end of a chestnut avenue in Zürich's Friedhof Sihlfeld.
This space offers tremendous beauty and also a powerful accoustic field for the gongs. For most of the last century this was the city's crematorium; today it is the cemetery's chapel — a square hall beneath a flat dome, daylight falling from above, frescoes of the hereafter and stone lions along the walls. Few rooms in the city hold silence the way this one does. To gather here, in a place built for farewell, gives the gongs and the stillness that follows a depth you will feel.
