Hi everyone,
It is with much sadness that I have taken the decision to cancel Gone to Earth 2024.
As some of you know I became a widow March 2023. Last years festival was cancelled for this reason. I had hoped to relight my enthusiasm and love for this festival for this year. Unfortunately that has not happened.
I have not been able to give the festival the attention it deserves - that you deserve.
I have fallen behind with arrangements and organising to the point that I have decided it's time to be honest with myself and you and say I can't do this.
My health is not particularly good at this moment. Nothing terribly serious - I am just very run down from the exhausting year I have just had. For the time I continue to have.
It fills me with great sadness to realise and have to accept that this part of my life is no more, along with other realisations that have to be accepted when widowhood is thrust upon you - it's not welcome and it's not wanted. But it is a reality that you have to accept and try to move on with - not from.
Gone to Earth was my husbands baby - his idea, he came up with the name. I now know that I should have let it go with him.
For that reason Gone to Earth will not be returning.
For all those people that have supported Gone to Earth through it's troubles and tribulations - covid, bringing it down to East Sussex, my husbands death I thank you - as I have always said it would have been nothing without you.
I truly love every last one of you.
I have met many people through this festival, many that have become friends and I will continue to see you out there in the festi world doing your thing.
I will be doing my thing too. I have just completed my Fire Walking Training and so if any one wants this for an event please do get in touch. This is now going to be me doing my new thing.
That's going to be me - a new start, a new thing.
I will of course be refunding all payments received. This will take some time so please be patient.

I would like to thank Mick Hindle and the lovely Jenni Gibson for the work and time they have put into this, the support they have shown me both personally and professionally. I am aware of having let down so many people. But this is a decision I needed to make.
There is however an alternative event coming along that you may want to attend.
This is being put on by the lovely Kim Pope and Rachel Streeter.
Anyone who has booked tickets with Gone to Earth but would like to go to this event as an alternative will receive a 10% discount on their booking. You will need to contact the organisers directly to arrange this.

If you have plans - if you have that to do list, that wish list you have scribbled on a bit of paper, or stored in the back of your head. Get it out, check it off get some of that stuff ticked off for there is no forever. There is only now.
