Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming invites all miniature painters to enter the Golden Pig Award Miniature Painting Competition, held during CincyCon 16. Inspired by Cincinnati’s famous pig statues and the convention’s signature theme, this contest highlights creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit.Miniatures Allowed: All ranges, including legal 3D-printed models Security: All entries will be stored in a locked display case
Entry Drop-Off / Pickup at the Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming HQ Table Drop-Off Times: • Friday, Feb 27 — 12:00 PM to close • Saturday, Feb 28 — Until 8:00 PM
Pickup: • Sunday, March 1 — 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Winners announced after CAGBASH XIX.
Competition Categories 1. Single Miniature
A single figure on up to a 50mm base (including cavalry, bikes, and small vehicles).
Judging Criteria: • Technical Execution – 40% • Creativity & Composition – 30% • Presentation – 20% • Theme – 10%
Units
A squad of 3–10 miniatures. Requires a display base no larger than 1’×1’ (may be smaller).
Judging Criteria: • Cohesion – 35% • Technical Execution – 35% • Base Work – 20% • Creativity – 10%
Monsters & Vehicles
Large centerpiece models such as tanks, mechs, dragons, or daemons.
Judging Criteria: • Technical Execution – 35% • Weathering & Effects – 30% • Composition – 25% • Narrative – 10%
Scoring Guidelines
Gold: 90–100 — Flawless execution with exceptional mastery Silver: 75–89 — High-quality work with minor imperfections Bronze: 60–74 — Solid effort with room for refinement
Overall Winner — “THE GOLDEN PIG”
A single overall champion will be selected from among all Gold-level category winners.
