About Jade Maze:

Jade Maze mixes soul, jazz, blues, and pop into one big heartfelt voice. She started out with soul and jazz bands on the West Coast, toured with her original band on the East Coast, and made Chicago her home in the mid-90s, where she foraged her way onto the blues and jazz scenes. She loves the intimacy of duo work as well, especially with guitar, bass, or piano.

Jade also happens to be an award-winning author. Her debut memoir, Walk Until Sunrise, took a first-place world literary prize (Rome), and the follow-up memoir entitled Mercy’s View: Blackout won a 2025 Best Book Pinnacle Achievement Award. The memoirs chronicle her teenage runaway experience, her reentry into society, and the beginning stages of her singing career. To offset the intensity of that work, Jade writes short stories where at least one of the story characters is a singer (Music Notes: Tales from an American Singer). They are hilarious!

About Chris Mahieu:

Chris Mahieu’s interests led him to jazz and many other styles of piano after receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical piano at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an in-demand pianist and has played all the major jazz venues in town (Showcase, Green Mill, Andy’s, and House of Blues) as well as Symphony Center and the Chicago Jazz Fest. He is a quiet killer on the keys completely dedicated to the art of music.
