About this Event
Join us for a meet-and-greet and presentation with American Golden Globe Race Skipper Guy deBoer!
In 2022, Guy was one of seventeen skippers on the starting line of the Golden Globe Race—the toughest solo, nonstop, unassisted around-the-world yacht race, sailed without modern technology.
Shortly after passing the checkpoint in Lanzarote, disaster struck. His yacht, Spirit, ran aground on the lava rocks of Fuerteventura. It was a devastating experience that tested everything he thought he knew about sailing and about himself.
It took nearly a year to bring Spirit back to life, but he promised himself he would rebuild.
Now ready for redemption, Guy is entering the 2026 Golden Globe Race to finish what he started four years ago—and to become the very first American to win a solo, nonstop yacht race around the world.
With less than four months to go until the September 6 start in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, join us to meet Guy and send him off as he makes his final push towards making history.
