Black Diamond and Mountain Chalet present for your participation the GOLDEN CARABINER SCAVENGER HUNT at Shelf Road on Saturday, March 28.What's a "GOLDEN CARABINER SCAVENGER HUNT?"
At Shelf Road before the hunt, 30 GOLDEN CARABINERS will be hidden at the anchors on certain climbs. You and a partner will register and get a clue sheet that will help you find one of the hidden GOLDEN CARABINERS. Solve the clue, climb a route safely, take a picture of the GOLDEN CARABINER you find, and bring it back to Mountain Chalet to get your Black Diamond prizes. Mountain Chalet will have a party to celebrate at the end of the day Saturday and get your prizes.
Actually, there are three GOLDEN CARABINER HUNTS along the Front Range - the first with Mountain Chalet at Shelf Road. And then, two others happen on the following consecutive Saturdays, the second at Clear Creek (April 5 with Bentgate Mountaineering) and the third at Boulder Canyon (April 11 with Neptune Mountaineering).
Climbers may participate in one, two or all three! (Celebrate with special BD tee if you participate in all 3.)

All proceeds will be a donation divided among the Access Fund, Boulder Climbing Community and Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance.
Each climber in the climbing pair (or team, if more climbers) needs to register ($20/each).

Saturday's schedule on March 28...
Prior to Saturday: Each climber/belayer registers.
8am: Pick up clue sheet at Mountain Chalet
8-5 Spend the day climbing at Shelf Road, Find a Golden Carabiner, and Take a picture of the found Golden Carabiner. (Carabiners found before 8AM on Saturday do not qualify for a prize.).
5pm: Back to Mountain Chalet's apres rock party and prizes! Bring the Golden Carabiner found!
There's a special BD tee shirt for purchase to commemorate the event!

Please be aware of the...
RULES
Registration which includes a clue sheet must be purchased by both participants (belayer and climber) to redeem their golden carabiner for prizes.
Both Climber and Belayer may redeem their Golden Carabiner for gear at the approrpriate shop for the day's climb or at the afterparty at Neptune Mountaineering on 4/11. Only one must be present to collect prizes.
Each participant pair is only elgible to find one Golden Carabiner each weekend but both participants get a prize.
Participants MUST take a photo once they find their Golden Carabiner. Carabiners found before 8am on the event date will be disqualified.
Please practice Leave No Trace, follow parking rules, and always follow area ethics.
