About this Event
Join us at the Museum for gold panning on Sunday, May 17th from 12 noon - 3 pm.
Activities are provided by the Nampa Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA), a local chapter and social club in Idaho (also known as the Treasure Valley Gold Prospectors). You’ll learn to pan for gold from these experts, and each child takes home a speck of gold.
30-minute gold panning sessions takes place outside under shade canopies on the grass of the historic Women’s Ward Courtyard at the Old Pen. When you are done or while you are waiting for your time slot, you can also participate in an easy 40-minute guided geology hike on the nearby Table Rock hillside at about 1 pm.
You'll want to enjoy our amazing Museum and see the blacklight display, mining camp, Idaho dinosaur, rocks and minerals and much more. Children get a free polished mineral!
