In 2015 Alison was diagnosed and
treatedfor A-typical Ductal
Hyperplasia (ADH). This is an abnormal formation of cells in the breast and can be a pre-cursor of breast cancer.
In January of 2026 Alison noticed what appeared to be blood coming from several ducts of her right breast. Unfortunately, during the same time, she was being treated for having a cellular mutation that formed a possible cancerous nodule on the left side of her thyroid (HRAS positive). Prioritizing that, she underwent a partial (left side) thyroidectomy on May 8th, 2026.

After healing from that, she resumed care for her breast health issues. Many tests, doctor appointments, mammograms, ultrasounds, an MRI and an excisional biopsy had to occur to find the problem.
On June 11th, 2026, she was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS).
DCISis a form of breast cancer that has not yet turned invasive (stage 1-4) but has the potential to. It is referred to as stage 0 breast cancer because the cancer is contained in the ducts of the breast. This diagnosis has come with many emotions and options for treatment. Medications, continuous ongoing screenings, radiation and surgery.
Alison, her family and her medical team have decided to go ahead with a double mastectomy. This will give the lowest possible chance of having any reoccurrences as Alison has many years ahead of her since she is 38 years young.
Being an avid motorcyclist, her wish is to bring awareness to all cancer types, not only DCIS…
She would love to see her family, friends and community come together and join her for a final motorcycle ride/topless vehicle ride of her 2026 season. As well as bringing awareness together for all types of cancer.
There will be a $10 entry fee for the ride
If you do wish to donate this can be done through the GoFundMe link, any donations are beyond appreciated.
Half of the donations will go to supporting Alison’s medical bills, medical travel, and recovery from surgery. The other half will be donated to the University of Iowa Hospital
