About this Event

Thirty songwriters.
Three days in the desert.
One night of songs, performed for the very first time.

Hosted by Grammy-nominated artist Louise Goffin, the writers of the Goffin & King Foundation's songwriting retreat share the songs they've written together, right here in Joshua Tree.

ABOUT THE EVENING

The Goffin & King Foundation's retreats began here in Joshua Tree in 2023, and this November they’re coming home. The songwriters work in rotating groups of three. Each session starts with a blank page and a new set of collaborators.

At the end of each day, they’ll have written twenty new songs. Saturday night, those songs leave the rooms they were born in and step into the light.

Every song gets one first night, and we can’t wait for you to be there.

ABOUT THE GOFFIN & KING FOUNDATION

Louise Goffin, daughter of songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King, founded the Goffin & King Foundation to bring songwriters together in historic places and studios to write side by side.

Seasoned pros write alongside newcomers as equals with community at the forefront.

Since 2023, its retreats have produced more than 250 songs and 15 live shows. Writers have worked at 11 iconic studios, including Abbey Road, Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, and Royal Studios in Memphis.

"To all of you who are part of this community — I am happy to know that you're carrying on the songwriting torch, because being a songwriter is something special."
- Carole King
