Berlin's quirky singer-songwriter comes to SydneyMary Ocher is a singer and songwriter who blurs the lines between pop and avant-garde. Her colorful, playful music is packed with cultural and historical references. Born in Moscow, she moved to Tel Aviv as a child, where themes of nationalism and xenophobia influenced her creative outlook. As a young adult, she relocated to Berlin and became a key figure in its underground scene.
Mary Ocher has toured 40 countries worldwide and has collaborated with Mogwai, King Khan and Felix Kubin, among others. Her genre-defying work spans folk, garage, ambient, and experimental pop. Her releases often come with texts or essays, reflecting her commitment to underground music.
