About this Event
Goatman Festival brings four days of Kentucky folklore, cryptids and unexplained fun to Pope Lick Park, home of Louisville’s legendary Pope Lick Monster.
Meet cryptid experts, paranormal investigators, artists and fellow folklore fans while enjoying live music, outdoor movies, seminars, local vendors, costume contests and some of Louisville’s most unusual festival competitions.
Admission and parking are free
General festival admission and parking are completely free. No ticket or advance registration is required to enter the festival.
Eventbrite requires a free ticket option to create this event page, but attendees do not need to reserve, download or present a ticket for general admission. Tickets are only required for optional paid attractions, tours and upgraded experiences.
Festival hours
- Thursday, October 15: 6–10 p.m.
- Friday, October 16: 6 p.m.–midnight
- Saturday, October 17: noon–midnight
- Sunday, October 18: noon–10 p.m.

Some experiences, including guided tours and the Legend at Pope Lick haunted trail, require separate paid admission.
Before you arrive
Goatman Festival is an outdoor event, and some programs take place after dark on natural terrain. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather and consider bringing a blanket or lawn chair for outdoor presentations and movies.
The Pope Lick railroad trestle is an active railroad bridge, private property and not part of the festival grounds. Never enter, approach or climb the trestle.
