G.O.A.T. (Grotesque Of All Time) is a not-quite-dance, not- quite-theatre performance that slips between inner monologue and absurd spectacle. The piece takes place backstage, an hour before a show that may or may not exist - the greatest show of all time.

Reality suspends. The fourth wall wobbles. A single performer glitches between two versions of self: the confident facade and the chaotic millennial with a to-do list longer than the script. Movement leads the story, and text interrupts, argues, and occasionally betrays it. The fourth wall doesn’t so much break as quietly dissolve.

From girlhood to artist to woman.

Through glitches, humour and bodily honesty, G.O.A.T. reveals the messy, tender, and often ridiculous process of trying to live up to one’s own version of whom they wish to be.

About the artist:

Maitreyee is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and movement artist from Pune. With a foundational training in various dance practices, she has recently expanded her curiosity and practice into the space where dance and theatre intersect.

Her work is rooted in an ongoing inquiry into the body as a site of memory, identity, and transformation, often weaving together physicality, humour, and introspection. She completed her diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media from Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, and is a certified yoga and pilates practitioner, both of which inform her approach to performance and pedagogy.

She is a co-founder of Citizens of Stage and Peace Projects, and a member of the Pune-based collective 678 Co-Lab.

Peace Projects is a multidisciplinary collective based in Pune, bringing together the worlds of theatre, contemporary dance, and music. It works towards creating an ecosystem that supports and nurtures the creation and sharing of work across these three practices.
