About this Event
GO is an improvisational game system created and taught by Rosanna Gamson for all bodies around the world since 2017. Gamson has led GO workshops for circus artists, dancers, choreographers, actors and directors, most recently at the Pig Iron School in Philadelphia, Shanghai Theater Academy, and Zhejiang Conservatory in Hangzhou, China.
GO is a sequential series of exercises and games that help break performers of habits and mannerisms, spark movement invention, build listening skills, and can be used by choreographers and directors to generate group-authored performances. Using the GO games, performers lose self-consciousness, stop self-criticizing, and find new vocabulary. The group quickly becomes a working ensemble capable of making group decisions moment to moment.
GO games have been performed by RGWW as stand-alone events in dance and theater festivals, and used by other choreographers in their studios.
