About this Event
In April 2025, Greater Manchester began its journey to transform the way that children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs are supported through implementation of The Balanced System Framework. This followed a discovery phase which identified that 34 % of GM children and young people have a SLC need which may adversely affect their life chances. To address scale of need, a radically different whole-system approach was required to delivery. As the programme moves into its second year, we would like to invite you to join us for an in-person, session to:
- Celebrate the successes of the first year of transformation and promote what is already being achieved and offered in GM.
- Spotlight good practice from local systems including SLC services and wider system partners.
- Strengthen understanding of the role of different parts of the system in supporting children and young people.
- Take part in workshops to highlight future opportunities, problem-solve collectively, and help shape the plans for the second year of transformation towards implementation of The Balanced System.
