Celebrating the Visionary Leadership of Glynis Anderson, LMSW, ACSWHome of New Vision (HNV) proudly celebrates the incredible legacy of our Founder and CEO, Glynis Anderson, LMSW, ACSW. A visionary in substance use and mental health treatment, Glynis has devoted her life to creating opportunities for recovery and transformation.
Please join us for her retirement party on Friday, January 31st, at the McKinney Ballroom, Eastern Michigan University. Light food and refreshments will be provided. See the attached flyer for details.
Over 25 years ago, Glynis founded HNV with no financial resources, two young children, and a deep commitment to helping others. Her personal recovery journey, which began in 1990, inspired her to address the unique challenges women in recovery face. Recognizing the need for safe, structured environments, she created a program to help women and families heal and succeed. Today, HNV has grown into a $5M agency with 100+ staff, offering Recovery Housing, Residential/Detox and Outpatient Treatment, Peer and Case Management Services, Education/Prevention, and Outreach programs across Southeast Michigan.
Guided by her belief, as echoed by Betty Ford, “Until we expand treatment opportunities for women and tailor programs to their specific needs, we will make little progress in helping addicted women recover,” Glynis overcame significant challenges to pursue higher education. She earned an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work, and became a Certified Addictions Counselor, building the foundation for her leadership in addiction recovery.
Beyond HNV, Glynis pioneered Michigan's state model for Engagement Centers and helped develop two Recovery Community Organizations in Washtenaw and Jackson counties. Her advocacy and leadership have earned numerous accolades, including EMU’s Distinguished Alumna Award and the Michigan Department of Community Health’s Treatment System Transformation Award.
As Glynis transitions into retirement, her legacy of resilience, compassion, and innovation will continue to inspire others. Thank you, Glynis, for your unwavering dedication and the countless lives you’ve transformed.
