Gloucestershire Women in Business Lunch

Our last Women in Business lunch of 2024 will be held at the Manor by the Lake on Wednesday 13th November starting with teas/coffees at 11.45am.

As usual, there will be an opportunity for networking, a talk from an inspirational businesswoman and a two-course lunch.

New faces are always very welcome.

Sarah Bryars will be our speaker for this event, and she'll be sharing her "Three big reasons to consider becoming a charity trustee".

Did you know that there are one million charity trustees in the UK – and around 100,000 vacancies?

Sarah will give you a snapshot of what’s involved in being a trustee and why she’d encourage everyone to consider it.

You’ll learn:

• What is the role of a trustee?
• What qualifications or experience do you need?
• Three aspects about being a trustee that may be difficult or challenging
• Three GREAT big reasons to say ‘yes’

Sarah is a Trustee of the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, the charity which supports the national arboretum in its mission to protect trees and enrich lives. With a career spanning more than 30 years in PR and strategic communications, 2024 has been a year of new beginnings for Sarah. Leaving her role as agency CEO behind, Sarah now works directly with leaders as an executive ghostwriter and messaging strategist; helping boards to communicate their vision and expertise, so that they can exercise their influence more clearly and powerfully.

As always, there will also be an opportunity for our questions for Sarah.

These lunches allow us to:

• relax over a delicious meal in a luxurious private dining room
• connect and network with like-minded businesswomen
• establish new connections, new working relationships and new friendships, as well as developing existing ones. As the numbers are capped at 24 there is usually opportunity to connect with all/most other women in the room during the event
• promote our businesses, ourselves and our connections
• learn from each other, and to help us be better at what we do.

The set lunch consists of two courses (main and dessert) plus coffee/tea. Alternative options can be made available, but you will need to notify us of any dietary requirements in advance.

• this is a women-only event and a ‘not for profit’ venture - we split the cost between us;
• unfortunately, we can’t permit cancellations once you’ve booked and paid, as the venue is paid in full in advance.
