Gloria! Christmas Concert with Magnum Chorum

Gloria in Excelsis Deo! The voices of Magnum Chorum illuminate the joyful miracle of Christmas in this radiant serenade. Ancient sounds stir in the deeply meditative In Splendoribus Sanctorum by James MacMillan contemplating the glory of the heavenly sanctuary and in O Magnum Mysterium by 16th century Italian composer Giovanni Gabrieli. The Ukrainian Carol of the Bells foretells good news, as I Wonder as I Wander by John Jacob Niles offers a gorgeous retelling of the Christmas story, and we encounter the Christ child in a humble manger in Christiansen’s Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. For our centerpiece, we bring you John Rutter’s triumphant Gloria with brilliant brass and percussion. Beloved carols and works by John Gardner and Sweden’s Margareta Bengtson help prepare our hearts for the wonder and peace of this holy season.
