As the UK navigates shifting global trade dynamics, the future of trade policy must be rooted in strategic foresight, institutional coordination, and evidence-based decision-making. This forum brings together senior voices from policy, industry, and academia to discuss how the UK can respond to global disruptions, support manufacturing, services, and SMEs, and collaborate with allies to develop a trade framework that fosters economic growth.
John Alty CB, Visiting Professor in Practice, London School of Economics & Former Director General for Trade Policy, UK Government, will spend a day at Aston University and share reflections on the UK’s recent trade experience, policy and institutional challenges, and strategic lessons for the future.
