The course is one of a series being planned as part of an initiative being launched by IAF England and Wales to serve their community of members and friends, convening spaces where facilitators can, together, develop their personal awareness and effectiveness in this area.
This specific course is scheduled in Birmingham as a pre-conference training option for attendees at the April 25-26 IAF England & Wales annual conference however it is open to all facilitators”

Bianca, an CIPD Associate and Mental Health First Aid England Associate since 2016, brings a wealth of expertise in both facilitation and anti-racism work. Her Race Ahead courses have consistently empowered facilitators to address racism confidently, challenge systemic inequalities, and embrace inclusive practices.
This course is tailored for facilitators who want to deepen their understanding of racism, enhance their confidence in addressing it, and integrate anti-racism into their professional practice. If you're ready to take bold steps in your allyship journey and lead by example, this session is for you.

- Understanding Racism in All Its Forms
- Deep dive into the structural, institutional, and interpersonal levels of racism.
- Explore how these dynamics manifest in facilitation settings and impact group interactions.
- Language and Literacy
- Learn how to use inclusive language to increase understanding and engagement.
- Develop confidence in addressing and reframing problematic language in facilitation spaces.
- Microaggressions and How to Challenge Them
- Identify microaggressions and understand their cumulative impact on individuals and groups.
- Gain practical tools to address and challenge these behaviours effectively during sessions.
