Global Shapers Paris: Civil Engagement Meetup

Curious about what Global Shapers Paris is building for the future of civic participation? Join us for our Open Doors Community Meetup, an evening dedicated to discovering our community, connecting with engaged citizens, and exploring how young people can actively shape democracy.

Inspired by our yearly theme, and with the 2026 municipal elections just around the corner (don’t forget to vote on March 22nd!), this event will focus on civic engagement, youth participation, and democratic action. Together, we’ll reflect on how communities, storytelling, and local initiatives can inspire people to take part in public life and strengthen democratic participation.

As part of this reflection on civic engagement, we are honoured to welcome filmmaker Graham Shelby, who will share insights from his documentary . Through powerful storytelling, the film explores how identity, community, and civic responsibility intersect within a modern city. City of Ali highlights the ways individuals and grassroots actors shape their communities—showing that civic participation goes far beyond voting. Through dialogue, cultural expression, and community action, the film invites audiences to rethink how stories can mobilise citizens and inspire the next generation to take an active role in public life.
