About this Event
Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking event hosted by the Václav Havel Program for Human Rights & Democracy. Students from the Politics of Transition and Human Rights course will present their semester-long work in a dynamic session examining societies currently under authoritarian rule. This year, students selected different case studies and developed hypothetical “transition maps”—roadmaps that imagine how these societies might move toward more democratic and rights-respecting futures. Through comparative analysis and creative policy thinking, the presentations explore the obstacles, possibilities and uncertainties of political transition. Come meet the students, ask questions and engage with fresh perspectives on the future of democracy and human rights around the world.
Organized by Daniel Pedreira, Ph.D., Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of Politics & International Relations.
