Welcome to the Global Bellydancer of the Universe (R) Competition, Festival, and Icon Awards Show!
The most renowned, prestigious, cutting edge Global Bellydance Competition in the Universe! Join the Global Experience!
Come join us at the iconic Assistance League Theatre, on August 16, 2026, where the competition and evening show will be encompassing all styles of belly, dance with flawless performances, dazzling costumes, and a vast array of international music and dance celebrating all cultures that embrace the art of bellydance!
There are two diverse and amazing sessions for your entertainment pleasure!
Session 1: 12:30 (Doors Open) - 3:00pm for the Global Live Preliminaries and the Global Virtual Entries ; the voting for the People's Choice Winner, the Zil Competition in the Courtyard to benefit the SCPA / Breast Cancer Research and food and shopping will be available starting at 12:30p!
Session 2: 3:00-5:30pm - announcing the People's Choice Winner, the 4 Live Preliminary Finalists, and introducing the Virtual Queen! Next will be the totally Improv Live Finals to music performed by the Bellydancer of the Universe (R) Orchestra. The Icon Award Winners will perform and be given their award, followed by the Crowning of the Bellydancer of the Universe (R) Queen and Her Court!
At 12:30pm, we open to the General Public. Our beautiful Oasis Courtyard will have food & drink for purchase, vendors, open dance, and more!
As you enter into the air-conditioned theater at 1pm, let our Global contestants transport you to another universe with their dazzling competitive performances! They will showcase their skills, artistry, and compete for over $4000 in cash, plus prizes, and the title of Global Bellydancer of the Universe 2026.
Our Interactive People's Choice winner with a $200 prize, will be chosen by audience applause during the daytime competitive performances, and the winner will be announced in the evening Icon Awards Show.
Between 3 and 3:30pm, in the Courtyard you are greeted with options of participating in watching the Zil Competition, shop with your favorite vendor, talk to the uncomparable contestants or judges, take advantage of photo opportunities -- and enjoy the live music and a chance to dance!
At 3:15pm in the Courtyard will be the Zil Competition Benefit for SPCA / Breast Cancer Research, accompanied by Mesmera's Raqs, Rhythm & Muse!
At 3:30p, it is time to enter the theater for the Live Improvisational Music Finals with the top scores from the preliminary contestants, to see who the Bellydancer of the Universe (R) 2026 will be. The Icon Award Show with performances by our nominees, who are stars in the bellydance industry.
The Live Finalists will dance to music by the Bellydancer of the Universe (R) Orchestra, to music they have never heard before ; they will use their knowledge of the different styles of the dance, musiciality, creativity, choreography, stage presence, and overall appeal in their performance. The highest score win the title, $3000 in cash, plus prizes and performance opportunities globally.
