Grammy-nominated composer Chris Brubeck continues to distinguish himself as an innovative performer and composer. An award-winning composer, he is tuned into the pulse of contemporary music. John von Rhein, music critic for The Chicago Tribune, calls Chris: “a composer with a real flair for lyrical melody–a 21st Century Lenny Bernstein.”
The Glens Falls Symphony is thrilled to welcome Chris and his premiere work, American Portraits, to the stage at Glens Falls High School for what is going to be a moment to remember in Glens Falls Symphony music history.
This concert will also feature Charles Ives: Variations on America, William Schuman: Chester, Scott Joplin/Schuller: Excerpts from Treemonisha. As well as a special performance and reading of Aaron Copland: Lincoln Portrait.
As well as works from Gershwin, Ellington, Joan Tower, and more!
