Students have led the way in condeming the racism and bigotry of Pauline Hanson's One Nation.
The undercurrent of racism and bigotry, supported by Labor and the Coalition’s inhumane anti-refugee policies and anti-trans laws, has created space for Hanson and other bigots to flourish.
One Nation is exploiting the growing public alienation with the traditional parties, as the cost-of-living and housing crises hit people hard, to blame migrants and refugees. It is also seeking to blame women for the rise in domestic violence and promote intolerance towards LGBTIQ people.
On Saturday, September 26, students and community leaders will gather for a speak-out to condemn racism and bigotry.
We will gather at Jubilee Fountain, to hear from speakers, before marching to the University of Sydney (USyd) Footbridge for a banner drop and photo shoot.
Speakers:
Ethan Floyd — Community organsier, Wiradjuri, Ngiyampaa, and Wailwan activist and USyd student who participated in this years' Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza.
Yuri — Highschool student and member of Socialist Alliance.
Isaac Nellist — Green Left journalist, USyd student and Socialist Alliance candidate for Balmain.
Pastor Raymond Winniecon — Kabi Kabi, Goreng Goreng and Ambrym Island Elder and co-pastor and founder of Scarred Tree Ministries in Glebe.
