Students will have the opportunity to make their own one-of-a-kind glass vase.Students will receive an orientation to the Glassworks Studio, and safety information. Next, they will learn about basic tools used for hot glass sculpting and glassblowing, and watch a demonstration. Each student will then work with a skilled instructor to design, inflate, and shape a unique vase. Working with hot glass requires teamwork. Students will learn how to be a good assistant, and help each other throughout the process.
Finished pieces will need to cool slowly overnight before they are ready to take home. Students may pick up their work the afternoon following class at the Waterfall Arts reception desk on the main floor outside the Gallery. Arrangements can be made to have pieces shipped for an additional fee.
No previous experience working with hot glass is needed!
More experienced students also welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to refine form, try a new shape or design, or to bring a friend who is new to glass and enjoy creating together.
