Glass fusing workshop - vessel slumping!
About this Event
If you've always fancied having a go at glass fusing, or want to try something completely different, join us at our fused vessel slumping workshop. You will make a piece of fused glass which will be slumped in the kiln into your desired shape - this could be a bowl, platter, nibble dish trio or even a candlebridge. When you book please email us to let us know what you'd like to make. For bigger work please speak to us in advance about the extra glass and firings so we can price this accordingly for you. Our classes are small to allow for 1:1 time with artist Chan Foy, in order to develop your ideas, and are suitable for beginners and improvers. During class you can make one piece of glass for your home or as a gift for that special somebody (if time allows you can also make a smaller item). You can also gift one of our workshops for a special occasion.
We are located within GRIT studios (head for the large building covered in a fabulous mural), we have a secure door so please ring the bell and I will come down and let you in (please refrain from trying to yank it open!).
There is parking at the side and back of the studio plus on Hardman Street (a few minutes walk away).
We are on the 1st floor accessed via stairs, there is no lift.
We will be using a variety of tools on the day to break glass, email us if you have any challenges with your hands to check this out (recent injury/surgery or limited use).
Your work will be ready about 4 weeks after your visit, please watch out for a collection email (which often lands in junks folders). Please join our daily kiln reveals via our socials to see your work after it's been fired.
We look forward to meeting you and starting your glass journey with us:)
Chan
