The exhibition highlights the crucial role that craft has to play in an increasingly disconnected world, it explores how making connects us, through the raw materials we shape, sharing skills over generations and exchanges of crafted objects. Being a craft practitioner means being part of an interconnected network that is both human and more-than-human. Yet, making can often be solitary. This ebb and flow between connection and separation is a familiar rhythm for many makers. 'Connections' invites us to reflect deeply on the linkages that sustain us. In a time of division, the works displayed ask us to consider what role craft, and especially glass, has to play in creating a more connected world.Running from October 27th to November 1st at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin.
Join us in celebrating glass as a medium of connection in a world that needs it more than ever.
Supported by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland.
